Jay and Crystal's Wedding

OK folks, here's the follow up for my previous post. Like I mentioned, I was down in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico last month for Jason Hughes' wedding at the Grand Sunset Princess resort and I have to say that after shooting there I'm kind of ruined now for weddings. You can't really get a better location for a wedding - the ceremony was right on the beach, the weather was hot and sunny and they were played down the aisle with the sweet sounds of an acoustic guitar. It really was as close to perfect as can be.

The resort had so many great photo spots that we ran out of time to get to them all - it's not often you can say that. Usually you're scrambling just to find enough usable locations. Then, to cap it all off, Crystal asked if we could "Trash the Dress" and shoot in the water. Well, you don't have to ask me twice - I'm always looking for anything creative we can do so I had her in the fountain and we finished things up with Jay and Crystal in the Caribbean at sunset. I couldn't have asked for anything more and now I can't wait to shoot another location wedding. So much fun!

Here's a few of my favorites. To check out the rest you can see the entire gallery on my website: http://jkliss.photoshelter.com/gallery/Jay-and-Crystals-Wedding/G0000EHTZb4KcMhU/P00004AIW_n.FgZU

Jay and Crystal's daughter, Serena, got her own little wedding dress

Serena and Crystal, ready to walk down the aisle.

Crystal and her bridesmaids, Toby and Sarah, enroute to the ceremony.

 The wedding location

 Flowergirls

 Playing out the bride

 Here comes the bride

Music, beach, sunshine...perfect day for a wedding

 The Hughes family

Fun on the beach with the wedding party

 I really like shot

The lobby in the part of the resort that Jay and Crystal were staying in had this neat bridge across water. I loved being able to shoot down on them from above here.

 Crystal and her mom, Holly

There were lots of interesting pockets of light around the resort

Crystal was nice enough to get back into her wedding dress on Friday evening so we could "Trash the Dress." First spot we tried was in the fountain.

 Another shot I really liked

Crystal, Jay and Serena on the beach

I loved getting them in the water

 And in the sand

I got wet getting this shot but it was worth it. Looking like a mermaid as the last rays of light leave us.

That's a wrap and time to clean the sand off.

Hi,

My name is Wendy and I would like to ask you something concerning your terrific Trash the Dress shoot Crystal and Jay.
Are you still in touch with the bride please or are you the owner of the trashed wedding dress?
I am really interested in purchasing the trashed dress as is, no cleaning or repairs needed!
This is a serious en honest request for a good cause!
Please ask her if she wants to help me with my project.
I try to restore the dresses used in a trash the dress shoot back to good condition.
I donate these dresses after restoring them to people in need.
They can't afford to buy a dress for their wedding and I like to help them.
I like to work with clothes and it's a joy for me to donate the dresses when they are back in good shape.
You can't imagine how happy these people are when they receive a dress for their wedding.
I can pay a small fee for the dress + shipping.
Donations are of course much appreciated!
I really hope that you can pass my inquiry to her as I really want to prevent that this dress ends up in a box or even in waste bin while I can help people.
Please also pass my inquiry to your future trash the dress brides/models.
My e-mail to contact me is herwyn.w@skynet.be
Thank you for your help and hope to hear from you very soon.
